Old Soul began behind the barber chair, but it was never meant to stop there.
What started as a barbershop has grown into a handcrafted grooming brand, a wholesale partner for like-minded businesses, and a community built around timeless style, honest work, and meaningful connection.
Old Soul was founded by Tyler Brownfield, a barber, creator, and lifelong believer in craftsmanship. After completing barber school in Vancouver in 2014 and refining his skills in Rotterdam in 2017, Tyler opened his first barbershop later that year. What began as a pursuit of mastering the craft soon became something much bigger. It was there he discovered his passion wasn't just cutting hair—it was creating something with purpose.
Inspired by films, timeless books, motorcycles and classic cars, great music, and the people who refused to settle for "good enough," Old Soul became a place where creativity, quality, and character could live under one roof. Every product begins in the barbershop, every design starts with an idea, and every decision is made with the same commitment to building something honest and lasting.
Alongside Tyler is his wife, Suzanne, whose background in customer service, management, and wellness helps shape the experience people remember long after they leave. While Tyler is focused on creating products, developing new ideas, and growing the brand, Suzanne ensures that every client, customer, and wholesale partner feels genuinely welcomed and cared for. Together, they continue to build Old Soul one haircut, one product, one conversation, and one relationship at a time.
